Foreign nationals have chosen Canada in the same light as a country they could easily adapt to their cultural beliefs and help promote their culture and economy. However, foreign nationals have seen the task of getting a visa as difficult whereas it is not necessarily difficult.

Traveling into Canada is not as difficult as it may seem, the Canadian government has opened different routes in which the foreign national could apply through and get into Canada, therefore, in this article, we will be talking about the ways in which foreign nationals could easily get their visa without hitches.

Canadian Visa

A Canadian visa is a document given to foreign nationals that grant them access to their country, without this visa foreign nationals will not be granted access. The visa means that you have fulfilled all eligibility requirements and the Canadian embassy or consulate has been convinced enough that you are fit and eligible to travel to Canada.

However, to gain entry at the border of Canada the custom there has the decision to either reject or accept you into the country. If you answer and certify your reason for coming into the country and convince them well enough you will be granted entry whereas if you do not, you will be asked to return to your home country irrespective of your Canadian visa.

 

Types of Canadian Visas 

There are different types of Canadian visas and this is grouped perfectly into groups and according to the reason/purpose of visit. If the purpose is to visit, do sightseeing, study or work then do know that there are types strictly for each particular purpose.

Temporary Visa

The name temporary shows that this type of visa has an expiry date and the moment it expires you are expected to be in your home country. This type of visa is given to foreign nationals who do not intend to stay in Canada for a very long period of time. This type of visa is also renewable but the renewable process should start three months before it expires.

The duration of the temporary visa is determined by the Canadian Consulate or the Border Services Officers (BSO). This time is usually up to 6 months. The temporary visa can either be a single visa or multiple visas.

A single visa is a visa that grants foreign nationals a single entry which is more often not more than 6 months then you return to your home country while multiple visas grant the foreign nationals multiple entries until their visa expires.

There are different types of temporary visas and they are;

Tourist Visa

A tourist visa is given to foreign nationals who have decided to visit the country strictly for tourism purposes.  They are issued this type of visa and they are not allowed to work during their stay.

Student Visa

Foreign nationals whose intention is to study in Canada are given this type of visa, they are however granted permission to work. The working hours are regulated during school period though but during breaks and holidays, they can work full-time.

Note: If the duration of your studies is more than six months then you will be given a student visa otherwise, you will be given a TRV visa. 

Visa To Give Birth In Canada

Foreign nationals who want their wives to come into Canada to give birth can apply for this type of visa, this is a temporary visa and it is assumed that the moment you have delivered the baby you will return to your home country. This automatically makes the baby a Canadian citizen.

Business Visa

Foreign nationals may be looking to expand their business or partner with other Canadian businesses to help flourish their own business in their home country, this particular visa is for you. This is given to foreign nationals who decide to get here on one business transaction or the other and must also return in due time.

 

Permanent Visa

As the name goes, this is a type of visa given to foreign nationals whose intention is to stay permanently in Canada, and of course, there are different programs through which you can get a permanent visa.

Startup Visa Program

This type of visa is given to foreign nationals who have taken out time to grow their business in Canada and can employ up to Canadian citizens. This business must be self-sufficient and must have stood the test of time of at least 3 years of steady employment of the Canadian citizens. In addition, they must have a net worth of 300,000 Canadian dollars.

Quebec-Selected Skilled Worker Program (QSWP)

Quebec is a French-speaking province in Canada. Once you have a skilled job and are fluent in French, you can apply for a job there and you may be granted a visa to work there permanently.

Immigrant investor visa

This type requires foreign nationals to invest in the Canadian economy. Investors must have a net worth of up to 800,000 Canadian dollars and invest half of the funds.  The Canadian government will however refund you the funds in five years.

 

Express Entry

The Canadian express entry is an electronically controlled platform that allows everyone from different parts of the country to apply for a visa according to the level of skill the foreign national can bring to Canada.

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP);
  • Provincial Nomination Programs (PNP);
  • Canadian Experience Class.

Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)

The Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) visa is given to people who are qualified tradespeople in occupations such as:

  • Carpenters
  • Aircraft Mechanics
  • Crane Operators
  • Heavy-duty Equipment Mechanics
  • Electricians

Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)

This type is given to foreign nationals who are very skilled and will help the Canadian economy. This is given to people in occupations such as:

  • Doctors;
  • Engineers;
  • Nurses;
  • Teachers;
  • Software developer.
