Barcelona’s desperate effort to sell Philippe Coutinho could see Arsenal paying just £9m in advance for the Brazilian star, the UK Independent confirms.
The LaLiga giants remain keen on Matteo Guendouzi, and the out-of-favor youngster may transfer to Camp Nou in a transaction that brings Coutinho to the Emirates.
Such a deal will see the Gunners paying an additional £9m.
Coutinho’s future is up in the air, after spending last season on loan at Bayern Munich.
However, the Bundesliga champions decided against making his move permanent this summer.
Coutinho has featured only 54 times for Barcelona since joining from Liverpool in a nine-figure deal.
But Barca are prepared to cut their losses on the player and strengthen their squad ahead of next season.
