Jadon Sancho set force a move from Borussia Dortmund if the club block his transfer to Manchester United – according to reports.

England International remains a priority target for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the upcoming transfer window as it fits into the profile of a player that the United Boss is looking to bring to Old Trafford and is seen as the ideal recruit to support the club’s forward line.

Sancho is believed to have told Dortmund of his desire to leave the club and MEN Sport understand he has a preference to return to Manchester. Pep Guardiola ruled Manchester City out of the race to sign the 20-year-old last week, giving United a free shot at his signature.

Ian McGarry of the Transfer Window Podcast believes Sancho will agitate for an exit if Dortmund decide to block his move to United.

“In these scenarios, once you’ve agreed with the player and the player obviously has indicated his desire to leave and join you, then it usually helps in terms of the player’s insistence at his current club with regards to: ‘I want to leave, I know what I’m going for, I know what I’m doing, so if you don’t allow me to leave then I will agitate’,” he said.

“And this is a player who has had three separate incidents in this season so far of fines for misbehaviour in terms of the club code of conduct and we know that Dortmund at different times have said that he’s been a bit problematic in this season because of the unsettled nature of his season, because of the interest mainly from Manchester United.”

Elsewhere, United have been credited with an interest in Real Madrid star James Rodriguez after reports claimed the Spanish giants were willing to slash the Colombian’s price tag.

Marca believe Rodriguez has requested to leave the club with Madrid willing to sell for just €25million.

They believe a move to the Premier League is likely for the 28-year-old, with United set to battle Everton, Arsenal and Wolves to secure his signature.

MEN Sport understand Rodriguez is not a priority target for United as he is way over the age of players Solskjaer is targeting. The former Porto man’s huge wage demands are also likely to be a major stumbling block to any deal.
