Manchester City star, Riyad Mahrez, has named Liverpool’s ace, Sadio Mane, as the player that should win the English Premier League Player of the 2019/2020 season.
The prestigious Professional Footballers’ Association, PFA, Awards would have took place on 26 April, but of course, postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
But Mahrez is reportedly believed that the Senegal international truly deserves the award because he has improved a lot technically, adding that he scores many goals now.
Riyad a left-footed player, usually plays as a right winger, a position which allows him to cut inside and shoot on goal with his stronger foot, or make deliveries into the penalty area.
However, he is a versatile player, who is capable of playing anywhere across the front line, both in the centre, or on either flank.
Although he is capable of scoring goals, he is also an excellent assist provider, courtesy of his ability to create chances for his teammates.
When Asked who should win the award, the Algeria captain told BT Sport: “I think it would be Mane.
“Not too many skills, he’s not a player of skills, but he’s efficient.
“He scores goals, like (Mohamed) Salah, When he was at Southampton, he was good, but he wasn’t as good as now.
“He’s improved a lot technically and in front of the goal. He scores a lot of goals now because he improved a lot. ‘So yeah, I think this year it should be him.”
Mane found the back of the net in Liverpool’s 4-0 emphatic win over Crystal Palace who seats ten on Premier league table with only one point behind Arsenal.
On Wednesday night Mane took his goal tally for Jurgen Klopp’s side to 17 in all competitions so far this term.
