The governor of Kano State, Ganduje, has said that President Muhammadu Buhari has given consent to ease the lockdown imposed because of coronavirus.
This was made known by the State Ministry of Health on its Twitter account on Saturday.
Note that online reports circulated that Governor Ganduje was under attack for lifting the state’s lockdown order following a record of 92 new cases.
The Governor had declared that Mondays and Thursdays would be lockdown free days, particularly between 10 am and 4pm to allow residents shop for food.
However, following backlash from Nigerians the State Ministry of Health tweeted,”@KanostateNg relaxes #lockdown on Mondays & Thursdays from 10:00am – 4:00pm with the consent of the President @MBuhari.
“The General public is to adhere strictly to #COVID19Kano protocols as given by the health professionals.”
